MIGIZI Breaks Ground
We broke ground this month! Construction is underway for our new building at 1845 E. Lake Street and we remember the hardships that we've endured to make our dream a reality. MIGIZI board, staff, Flannery Construction, Larson Engineering, and Cuningham partners joined together to commemorate this joyous occasion.
We are on track to complete the project in September. MIGIZI's new community space is a place where our young leaders, community members, and staff have envisioned a home for the development of our future generations. Read more and support us by visiting migizi.org/rise! #riseMIGIZI
WHO
WHERE
WHY
We bought our new home in mid-January, 2021. This building has good structure but has a lot of work to do! Since January, our young people, staff, and community members have been working together to envision what this new space will look and feel like. After months of solidifying our vision and dreams of what this space will be, we're finally taking off to make it a reality.

Poems and colorful graphic design by some of the Twin Cities’ leading visual and literary artists will wrap the historic Coliseum Building on East Lake and 27th Street, marking the completion of its Phase One redevelopment by Redesign, Inc.
The redevelopment will provide 85,000 sq. ft of commercial/retail/office space and incubator space for local BIPOC professionals and BIPOC-led firms. It will serve as a retail and commercial hub for the East Lake Street community and catalyze future adjacent development.
When approached by Estee Lauder, Drummer and Means said they wanted to be sure that this would contribute to their programs and not take away from it like some nation-wide, large grants may do when they ask for a restructure of the organization.
