Bus Shelter Public Art Program

Artists have a choice of two types of projects. .

Placemaking and Engagement Project

Artists will choose a bus stop from the list provided, engage the surrounding community, and submit designs based on that engagement.

Beautification Project

A Metro Transit service area artist chooses a bus stop from the list provided and submits designs (using the template) for the bus shelter. Designs are reviewed and selected. The chosen artists then must provide print-ready images. Artists are paid $1,200 for each selected shelter design.

Metro Transit is seeking proposals from local artists to design shelter glass clings to add placemaking and community identity at bus stops in their neighborhood.

As part of the Better Bus Stops and Public Art in Transit programs, Metro Transit is seeking proposals from local artists to design shelter glass clings to add placemaking/community identity at bus stops in their neighborhood.

If there are any questions about Art Requirements, please contact the Public Art Administrator at mark.granlund@metrotransit.org. There is limited ability to help with software issues.
