Upstream Arts’ Summer Self-Advocacy Classes Beginning


WHAT:

Upstream Arts’ weekly Self-Advocacy Classes offer adults with disabilities a fun, creative, and interactive space to strengthen their self-advocacy skills--with their families, friends, support staff, employers, and co-workers. Working alongside professional artists with their peers and support staff, these Self-Advocates will use theatre, dance, music, poetry and more to explore topics related to informed choice and person-centered planning.

WHO:

Adults with disabilities ages 18+ (including those outside of the Twin Cities metro)

Family members, support staff or PCA’s are asked to remain in the building for the duration of class, or better yet, join in!

ASL Interpretation and online Closed Captions provided.

WHEN:

Our Summer classes run July 11 - September 27, 2023, both In Person and Online:

Tuesdays from 11.30-12.30pm (In Person--Pillsbury House Theater and Community Center, 3501 Chicago Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55407)and Wednesdays from 4-5pm (Online)

Upstream Arts is now a waivered service provider, also offering Full and Partial Scholarships to those without waivers! (Our business is connecting across barriers and breaking down walls, even financial ones!) See attachment for details.
