38th and Chicago Re-Envisioned Community Engagement: Learning Table - August 2022

Created by Public Policy Project, The Learning Table provides a place to develop partnership, share ideas, and make commitments for including in the Re-Envision 38th & Chicago Project.

During the first meeting, about 50 attending residents were treated to dinner from Afro Deli followed by introductions to the project team and ground rules for meetings. Each round table’s participants then had 90 minutes to talk about the following three questions:

  1. What does public safety mean to you?

  2. How can we achieve it?

  3. How can the design of the intersection facilitate public safety?

Small groups reported back with inspired ideas and contributions. Each person evaluated the session with a one-word check out. Next Learning Table 9/26 6-8 p.m. at Sabathani Community Center. Contact Sharice McCain at mccain@neoopartners.com or 651-212-5129 with questions or accessibility needs.
