38th and Chicago Re-Envisioned Community Engagement: Learning Table - October

Created by Public Policy Project, The Learning Table provides a place to develop partnership, share ideas, and make commitments for including in the Re-Envision 38th & Chicago Project.

During this third of twelve monthly meeting, about 50 attending residents were treated to dinner from Afro Deli followed by introductions to the project team and ground rules for meetings.

This month’s topic was the Speedway/the People’s Way. The City of Minneapolis Public Works Dept was there to lay out options and a timeline for their potential purchase of the property. Participants discussed three questions at their tables before reporting back. Input from each session will be considered as plans for the intersection take shape.

Small groups reported back with inspired ideas and contributions. Each person evaluated the session with a one-word check out. Next Learning Table 11/28 6-8 p.m. at Sabathani Community Center. Contact Sharice McCain at mccain@neoopartners.com or 651-212-5129 with questions or accessibility needs.
